If you want to change the fruits, first look to change the roots: Habits of highly effective fundraisers who leave a lasting legacy.
What makes a good fundraiser, great? How do some companies, charities and RAGs become so successful? Those people who work so efficiently... what’s their secret?
This motivational session will identify several habits of effective people along with aspects of successful companies, looking to transfer real life examples across to student fundraising societies, charities and any organisation associated with fundraising, in order to leave a lasting legacy. It will cover topics including time-management (doesn’t it always feel like there’s so much to do with such little time?), goal-setting, proactivity, self-discipline and relationships (both professional and personal!). Anyone with an interest in personal development should look at joining this session. Learning’s from this seminar may help you develop your RAG, building the foundations this year to handover for a more successful next, but additionally you will learn tips which will be beneficial in your later career.

Navigating your Union – what student fundraisers need to know
Running any event can be a daunting experience at the best of times. RAG and student fundraising activities can be particularly complex, and navigating the legal and reputational risks that arise from these activities can be a minefield, with often conflicting advice and information being thrown at you from all corners. This session aims to explore some of the legal and reputational challenges that RAG fundraising events throw up, looking at what they are, why they are important, and how you can manage them. Students’ Unions have lots of rules and at first they can seem unnecessary or confusing but they are designed to help manage these risks. We’ll explore how they do this, and look at examples of how this works in practice.
