Student fundraisers are amazing – let’s spread the word!

Uncovering the misconceptions of overseas volunteering
Each year, the FutureSense Foundation sends out hundreds of volunteers to work with community projects across the globe. In this session, the question of how much of an impact volunteers can make abroad will be addressed, and some key points to consider when looking into overseas volunteering will be outlined. Examples of the work that volunteers for the Foundation have done, and the impact they have made will be used to add perspective to the well-documented debate on the pros and cons of ‘Voluntourism.’ The main questions the session aims to answer is ‘Why should students volunteer abroad? And how can student leaders be sure that the volunteering will make a positive impact?’
